Meet the Principals
Annamaria Kalman Principal
Ms Annamaria Kalman is the principal of our Whampoa campus. She is a passionate and innovative early childhood educator who brings an experience of more than thirteen years, having worked in the education field in Europe and Asia- Pacific including Hong Kong and Cambodia. Annamaria acquired her Kindergarten Principal certification from Hong Kong Baptist University. She has extensive experience in start-up kindergartens and pre-schools, and believes in the vision for developing professional learning communities. Annamaria helped to develop school cultures within an international context, that encourage open communication with all stakeholders. Under her leadership as Kindergarten Principal, two international schools gained IB PYP Authorization. She is looking forward to building strong partnerships with families, and hopes to create a positive impact on children’s lives.
Maggie Marsh Principal
Ms Maggie Marsh is the principal of our Sai Wan and Harmony Garden campuses. As a result of living in Hong Kong for the past 8 years and working in a variety of international schools, Maggie brings with her an excellent understanding of international education in the Hong Kong context. An enthusiastic educator with teaching experience in both Early Childhood and Primary settings across Australia and Hong Kong, Maggie has held leadership positions in Pastoral Care and Curriculum Development at The Australian International School in Hong Kong and also taught at German Swiss International School. She is currently completing an Executive Masters of Arts in International Leadership and Change. Maggie is passionate about celebrating the natural curiosity of children through hands-on exploration. She believes in being very visible to the school community and prides herself on having strong communication and interpersonal skills. Maggie is very excited to be a part of the Avendale community and is looking forward to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
