We recognise that each child is unique, therefore through hands on experiences and child centered learning, children acquire knowledge of the world around them through play exploration. Children in our pre nursery programme will be exposed to different learning outcomes, supporting their personal, social and emotional skills, fine and gross motor and building up their language and communication skills. Avendale International Kindergarten provides children in Hong Kong with a bilingual (English & Mandarin) learning environment designed to spark their curiosity. Our curriculum draws upon the Hong Kong Kindergarten curriculum guidelines and the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) United Kingdom. We have used these source documents to support and localise a curriculum that prepares students for the future.
Our Kindergarten (K1 - K3) children are immersed in a bilingual environment with a highly qualified and passionate English and Mandarin teacher. Engaged children drive their learning, create their knowledge, and develop innovative thinking skills. We believe that academics are vital, but alone are insufficient for preparing future leaders. Therefore, we instill moral strength and character to empower children in becoming productive and upright members of their community. Children in Kindergarten will have exposure to literacy, mark making and numeracy concepts, setting the foundations for the future. Children learn through hands-on and inquiry-based learning.
Avendale International Kindergarten offers an Enrichment Programme for students to explore, extend and deepen their understanding of particular areas of interest. Students can participate in a wide range of programmes that cater to specific learning areas. Avendale aims to offer enrichment programmes in the areas of: artistic development, culinary skills, sports, creative construction, STEM based experiences and opportunities to nurture their love of literacy through language based programmes (English, Mandarin and French). Students will develop specific skills and individual curiosity will be fostered through creative play and interactive learning experiences.
